The Popular Show Season Four Introduces the Fighters Table

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a thrilling plot featuring celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in power within Dol-Makjar.

Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.

The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and presented the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the main group to embark on their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.

The combat-focused team features Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).

Dividing the Cast

Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.

Characteristics of the Soldiers Table

According to the DM, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.

Initially, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might look mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Motivations for Departure

First, the team understands precisely where to go next after a intense first encounter with the antagonists.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to sell off.

Casimir then cleared his obligations and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Personal Motivations

Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
  • The knowledgeable figure knows Timmony and warns that it is a hostile environment.
  • The strong character and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
  • But, their position as key figures in House Halovar could help the group enter areas they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him wherever.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:

  • The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
  • Tyranny and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
  • The target is wanted dead by the clan.

This means them little choice but to head to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.

Upcoming Developments

From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the combat party will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to form the Seekers and Planners groups.

Fans can look forward to discovering which players will be assigned to which table in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
